Shahid Hussain Foundation
The Shahid Hussain Foundation was set up in 2016 to support institutions providing education and healthcare services for the underprivileged members of Lahore's community. The organisation wishes to do its bit in reducing inequity and helping people thrive by providing scholarships, research grants, donations, and technical assistance. Shahid Hussain Foundation's goal is to build a healthy and safe community in the historic city of Lahore and creating a space where all lives have equal worth, where people can enjoy healthcare and live meaningful lives in an environment of safety, security, health, and learning.
Shalamar Hospital
Mr. Shahid Hussain is the current Chairman of Businessmen Hospital Trust (BHT). Business Hospital Trust runs a fully equipped 500 bed Shalamar Hospital, located on Shalamar Road Lahore, to provide quality health facilities at a subsidised cost. Businessmen Hospital Trust has established and managed Shalamar Medical and Dental College Lahore, and Shalamar Nursing College. All these activities happen under the umbrella of the Shalamar Institute of Health Sciences.
LUMS
Mr. Shahid Hussain is currently Rector of Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Pakistan. LUMS prides itself as one of the top Universities in the sub-continent, having 250 faculty members and five schools within its sprawling campus. He has been a member of the Board of Trustees of LUMS for the last 20 years, a member of the Board of Governors of the National Management Foundation since 1990, and an active part of its Executive Committee since 2000.
